I am from Nova Scotia. For the last month I have had a groundhog living underground under my back porch. I have named him Gary. After trying the foods he is supposed to like his favourite is bread. Who doesn’t like carbs! I am really enjoying watching him. This is a great website.

I used to live in Chautauqua County, so I tend to find affinity with Dunkirk Dave, even though I am now in Pennsauken, NJ. If we had a ground hog, I’d be loyal to Dave.
I have a groundhog living under my backyard shed. Haven’t named him yet. My next door neighbor has two apple trees next to our fence, so he is well fed and leaves the gardens alone in the hood. Two summers ago, I tried to humanely trap him, but I guess the carrot bait wasn’t tempting enough. Then I tried spreading moth balls to repel him but that failed. After reading about “Dave”, I will now embrace his presence. He is kinda cute, and I’m a pushover for cute.
